Alert channels

Send alerts to Slack, Microsoft Teams, a webhook, or as tickets in ConnectWise PSA and HaloPSA.

Alert channels send notification rule alerts outside Knowpoint. Set them up in Admin β†’ Notifications β†’ Channels β†’ + Add, then tick them in each rule's Where section.

Every channel has a Send test button and shows whether it's Working or Failing, with the last error.

Slack

Posts each alert to a Slack channel, with an Open in Knowpoint button.

  1. In Slack, go to Apps β†’ Incoming Webhooks β†’ Add to Slack, pick a channel and copy the webhook URL (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/).
  2. In Knowpoint, add a Slack channel and paste the URL.

Microsoft Teams

Posts each alert to a Teams channel as a card.

  1. In Teams, open the channel, choose β‹― β†’ Workflows, and pick "Post to a channel when a webhook request is received".
  2. Finish the steps and copy the URL the workflow gives you.
  3. In Knowpoint, add a Microsoft Teams channel and paste the URL.

ConnectWise PSA tickets

Opens one service ticket per alert, with the alert's details and a link back to Knowpoint.

You need a ConnectWise API member, keys and client ID, as described in Connect ConnectWise PSA (the same ones work). Then enter the service board, a default company for tickets, and optionally a priority. Tick Match organizations to companies by name to file each ticket under the client's company.

HaloPSA tickets

Opens one ticket per alert. Create a Halo API application as in Connect HaloPSA, with the edit:tickets and read:customers permissions. Then enter a default client ID, and optionally a ticket type and priority. Tick Match organizations to clients by name to file tickets under the right client.

Webhook

Sends each alert as JSON to any URL, for Power Automate, Zapier, n8n or your own scripts:

{
  "event": "alert",
  "trigger": "expiring",
  "severity": "warning",
  "title": "contoso.com: domain registration expires in 7 days",
  "body": "…",
  "organization": "Contoso Legal LLP",
  "url": "https://yourcompany.knowpoint.io/domains/3",
  "facts": {"Organization": "Contoso Legal LLP", "Date": "Nov 03, 2026"},
  "test": false,
  "sent_at": 1761400000
}

If you set a signing secret, each request has an X-Knowpoint-Signature header: sha256= followed by the HMAC-SHA256 of the request body, using your secret. Check it to make sure requests really come from Knowpoint.

Email

Rules with Email ticked email their alert to the people on the rule. If the email option shows Not set up yet, email delivery isn't available in your workspace yet. Alerts still reach the πŸ”” inbox and your channels.

Note: Channel secrets, such as webhook URLs and API keys, are encrypted and never shown again after you save them. Leave a secret field empty when editing to keep the saved value. Channels must use public https:// addresses.
