Searching
Find any asset, password, document or contact in seconds, and filter by tag.
Search looks through everything you're allowed to see: organizations, assets, flexible assets, documents, passwords (names, usernames and URLs, never the secret), contacts, locations and domains.
Quick search
Press / or Ctrl+K (⌘+K on a Mac) from any page, or click the search box in the top bar. Results appear as you type. Use the arrow keys and Enter to open one.
Good things to search for:
- a hostname, IP address or serial number:
10.20.0.10,HV-DC01 - a username or login URL:
itadmin,portal.example.com - a person's name, email or phone number
- words inside a document
Filter with tags
Add # and a tag name to narrow results to items carrying that tag. For example, firewall #critical finds firewalls tagged Critical. You can combine several tags.
The full search page
Press Enter in the search box, or choose Search in the sidebar, for the full results page. It groups results by type and lets you filter by tag.
What you won't find
- Items in organizations you don't have access to.
- Restricted items you haven't been given access to. See Per-item access.
- Password values. Search only covers a password's name, username, URL and notes.
Tip: Can't find something with search? Try Ask AI, for example "Which server runs the file shares at Harborview?". It understands questions, not just keywords.
