Connect NinjaOne

Sync organizations, locations and devices, with hardware, OS, IP and last user, from NinjaOne RMM.

This guide connects NinjaOne so Knowpoint can read your organizations, locations and devices. Knowpoint only reads from NinjaOne. It never changes anything there.

1. Create an API app in NinjaOne

  1. In NinjaOne, go to Administration β†’ Apps β†’ API β†’ Client App IDs and choose Add.
  2. Choose the application platform API Services (machine-to-machine) and name it, for example Knowpoint.
  3. Tick the Monitoring scope, and allow the Client Credentials grant type.
  4. Save, and copy the Client ID and Client Secret. The secret is only shown once.

2. Connect in Knowpoint

Go to Admin β†’ PSA & RMM sync β†’ NinjaOne and fill in:

Field What to enter
Region Where your NinjaOne account lives: the address you sign in on, such as app.ninjarmm.com (US), eu.ninjarmm.com (Europe), ca.ninjarmm.com (Canada), oc.ninjarmm.com (Oceania) or us2.ninjarmm.com
Client ID / Client secret From step 1

Choose Save and continue, then Test connection. You should see how many organizations Knowpoint found.

What's synced

From NinjaOne Into Knowpoint
Organizations Organizations
Locations Locations, with address
Devices Assets, with hostname, operating system, IP address, manufacturer, model, serial number and last logged-in user

The device class decides the asset type: Windows and Linux servers and hypervisors become Servers, Windows, Mac and Linux workstations become Workstations, and network devices monitored by NinjaOne become Network Devices, Firewalls or Printers.

NinjaOne doesn't have client contacts, so contacts aren't synced. If you also use a PSA, connect it too for contacts.

Troubleshooting

Message What to do
NinjaOne sign-in failed Check the client ID, secret and region, and that the app allows the Client Credentials grant.
HTTP 403 The app is missing the Monitoring scope.

See PSA & RMM sync for matching organizations, scheduling and what a sync changes.
