Integrations

Pull clients, sites, contacts and devices in from ConnectWise PSA, HaloPSA and NinjaOne, and keep them up to date.

If you already keep clients and devices in a PSA or RMM, don't type them in again. Connect it, and Knowpoint creates and updates your organizations, locations, contacts and assets automatically.

HaloPSA Clients Sites Users Assets
NinjaOne Organizations Locations β€” Devices

You can connect more than one, for example your PSA for clients and contacts and your RMM for devices.

Connect

  1. Go to Admin β†’ Integrations and choose the tool to connect. You need the Manage workspace settings permission.
  2. Fill in the connection details. Each tool's page has a How to set it up box, and there's a guide for each one in this Help Center.
  3. Choose Save and continue, then Test connection.
  4. Choose Match companies to check which organization each company will sync into (see below).
  5. Choose πŸ”„ Sync now. The sync runs in the background, and the page updates when it's done.

What to sync, and when

On the connection's page, under What to sync:

  • tick Locations, Contacts and Assets to choose what's pulled in;
  • Create organizations for companies that don't match one: untick to only sync companies you've matched yourself;
  • Skip devices that aren't servers, workstations, network gear, firewalls or printers;
  • Sync automatically every hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, day or week, or only when you choose Sync now.

Matching, not duplicating

The first sync matches what you've already documented before creating anything:

Record Matched to an existing…
Company Organization with the same name
Site Location with the same name, in that organization
Contact Contact with the same email address, or the same name
Device Asset with the same name, in that organization

After that, each record stays linked to its item, so later syncs update the same item even if you rename it.

Match companies yourself

Match companies lists every company in your PSA or RMM. For each one, choose:

  • Automatic: match by name, or create a new organization (shown next to each company);
  • Don't sync this company: for example your own company, or old clients;
  • a specific organization: when the names don't match, such as "Contoso Ltd" and "Contoso Legal LLP".

How devices are documented

Each device goes into the matching asset type (Server, Workstation, Network Device, Firewall, Printer or Other), and these fields are filled in where the asset type has them: hostname, operating system, IP address, manufacturer, model, serial number, warranty expiration and assigned user.

Values are fitted to your dropdowns. For example, "Microsoft Windows 11 Pro" becomes Windows 11.

What a sync never touches

  • Notes, passwords, documents, tags and related items.
  • Fields the PSA or RMM doesn't know about, such as Backup method or Remote access.
  • Organization names: you can rename them freely.
  • An existing asset's type.

Nothing is ever deleted. If something disappears from your PSA or RMM, it stays in Knowpoint until you remove it. Disconnecting a tool keeps everything it synced.

Note: If you correct a synced field (say, a serial number) in Knowpoint, the next sync puts the PSA or RMM value back. Fix it at the source instead.

Results and problems

After each sync, the connection's page shows how many organizations, locations, contacts and assets are synced, and how many were new or updated. Any problems are listed with what to do about them. Each sync is also recorded in the audit log.
