Connect Cisco Meraki
Sync Meraki organizations and devices, with model, serial number, IP, firmware, status and when each device's license ends.
This guide connects the Meraki Dashboard so Knowpoint can read your clients' Meraki organizations and devices. Knowpoint only reads from Meraki. It never changes anything there.
1. Get an API key in Meraki
- In the Meraki Dashboard, open each client organization's Organization β Settings and turn on Dashboard API access.
- Open My profile (top right) β API access β Generate new API key, and copy it. The key can see what your account can see, so use an account with read-only access to every client organization.
2. Connect it in Knowpoint
- Go to Admin β Integrations β Cisco Meraki.
- Paste the API key, and choose your region if your Dashboard isn't on the global one.
- Choose Save and continue, then Test connection, then Match companies and π Sync now.
What's synced
| Meraki | Knowpoint |
|---|---|
| Organization | Organization, matched by name like a PSA company |
| Security appliance (MX) | Firewall asset |
| Switch (MS), access point (MR), cellular gateway (MG) | Network Device asset |
| Camera (MV), sensor (MT) | Other asset |
Each device gets its name, IP address, model, serial number and firmware in its asset fields, and a From Meraki card with its network, MAC address, LAN and public IP, status, last report and tags, with a link to it in the Dashboard.
Licenses
Meraki hardware doesn't have a warranty date; what expires is the license. Knowpoint puts each device's license end date in its warranty field: the organization's co-termination date, or the device's own date under per-device licensing. The usual expiry alerts then tell you before a client's Meraki license runs out.
