Business reviews (QBRs)
Build a quarterly business review for a client in a minute: Knowa writes it from their tickets, security, licensing, devices and renewals, for the person you're presenting to.
A business review (QBR) shows a client how their IT went over a period and what you recommend next. Knowpoint builds one from what's already documented and synced for that client, and Knowa writes it for the person you're presenting to. You edit it, leave out anything you don't want to show, and present it as slides or save it as a PDF.
Create a review
-
Open the organization and choose the π Reviews tab, or go to Business reviews in the sidebar and pick the organization. You need permission to edit documentation.
-
Choose who it's for. Knowa writes differently for each:
Persona What Knowa focuses on Business owner or CEO Business risk, cost and outcomes, in plain language with no jargon Office or operations manager How IT works day to day: response, what keeps breaking, onboarding, what staff should do Finance lead or CFO Spend, unused licenses, renewals and what to budget for the next 12 months IT lead or technical contact Versions, configurations, security controls, the devices involved and the fixes Add the name of the person you're presenting to if you like. It appears on the title slide.
-
Pick the period: last quarter by default, or the last 90 days, year to date, the last 12 months or any dates.
-
Choose what goes in. Sections with data for this client are ticked; sections without any are greyed out.
-
Optionally, tell Knowa what to emphasize, such as "They're opening a second office in spring".
-
Choose Write the review. It usually takes under a minute; the page updates by itself.
What's in it
| Section | What it shows | Where the data comes from |
|---|---|---|
| π Executive summary | How the period went, wins, and risks to discuss | Everything below |
| π« Service desk | Tickets opened and closed, how long they took to resolve, devices with repeat tickets, the oldest open ones | Tickets synced from HaloPSA or Autotask |
| π‘οΈ Security | Microsoft Secure Score and how it changed, security incidents, protected devices and gaps, addresses in known breaches, email security (SPF and DMARC) | Microsoft 365, Huntress, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender, Have I Been Pwned, Domains & SSL |
| πͺͺ Licensing | Microsoft 365 licenses bought, assigned and unused, and renewals | Microsoft 365 |
| π» Devices and lifecycle | Devices by type, operating systems past or near the end of support (such as Windows 10), warranties ended or ending | Assets, with dates from your RMM or the warranty lookups |
| β° Upcoming renewals | Domains, certificates, warranties, licenses and contracts expiring in the next 6 months | Expiry dates across the organization |
| π§ Recommendations and roadmap | Prioritized next steps, with when and a rough estimate where one is reasonable | Knowa, from the facts above |
Knowa only uses the facts it's given. It doesn't invent numbers, and it never puts a price on licenses. Hardware estimates are rough ranges for you to check. It sees counts, device names and dates, never password values or the breached email addresses themselves.
Edit it
Every review opens in the editor:
- Leave out a section: untick In the review on its card.
- Leave out a single row: untick Show next to a license, an incident, a device or a recommendation.
- Change the words: edit any headline, the text (Markdown) and the talking points. Talking points appear as presenter notes, not on the slide.
- Change the title or who it's for at the top.
Choose Save when you're done. π Rewrite collects the facts again and has Knowa rewrite it; sections you left out stay out, but your edits to the words are replaced.
The facts are a snapshot taken when the review was written, so a review stays as it was presented, even after the client's data changes.
Present it
- βΆ Present opens it as slides, with your logo if you've set one under Admin β Branding. Use the arrow keys or the buttons, N for your talking points and F for full screen.
- β¬οΈ PDF opens the print view with one slide per page. Choose Save as PDF to send it to the client.
Without AI
If AI is off for your workspace (or you tick Just the facts), the review is built from the facts alone: every section's numbers and tables are there, and you write the words. Add an Anthropic or OpenAI key to have Knowa write it.
Who can see reviews
Anyone who can see the organization can open its reviews. Creating, editing and rewriting a review needs permission to edit documentation, and deleting one needs permission to delete documentation. Reviews only include what the person who created them could see.
