Autofill in the browser extension

Fill in the username, password and one-time code on the site you're on, from the extension's side panel.

On a site with a saved password, the extension can fill in the sign-in for you: the username, the password, and the current one-time code if the password has one.

Fill in a sign-in

  1. Open the site's sign-in page and the Knowpoint side panel.
  2. Under Passwords for the site, select Fill next to the password.
  3. The first time on a site, Chrome or Edge asks to let Knowpoint access it. Choose Allow.

Check what was filled in, then sign in yourself: Knowpoint never submits the form. On a sign-in that takes more than one step (the email first, then the password, then a code), select Fill on each step.

If nothing is filled in, the page's fields weren't recognised: use Copy instead.

Only on the right site

  • Fill shows only for passwords saved for the site you're on, and Knowpoint checks it again before handing anything over. A password for example.com is filled in on example.com and its subdomains, never on a look-alike such as example.com.evil.net. To use a password on another site, add that site to its URLs (see One password, several sites).
  • Inside the page, Knowpoint fills only fields on that same site, never in a frame from another site.
  • You need permission to reveal passwords. Each fill is recorded in the audit log, like a reveal ("Filled in password … on …").
