Passkeys
Sign in to Knowpoint with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, your phone or a security key, instead of a password and a code.
A passkey lets you sign in to Knowpoint with the same check you use to unlock your device: your face, your fingerprint, a PIN or a security key. There's no password to type and no code to find, and it can't be phished: a passkey only works on your workspace's own address.
Add a passkey
- Select your name in the top right to open your Profile.
- Under π Passkeys, give it a name you'll recognise (Work laptop, iPhone), then select Add a passkey.
- Follow your browser's prompt: confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your PIN, or use your phone or a security key.
Add one on each device you sign in from, or keep it in a password manager or your Apple, Google or Microsoft account so it's on all your devices.
Sign in with it
On the sign-in page, select Sign in with a passkey and confirm on your device. You don't enter your email, your password or a two-factor code: the passkey covers all three. If your workspace requires two-factor authentication, signing in with a passkey meets it. Signing in with your password still asks for your code.
Remove a passkey
On your Profile, select Remove next to it. Remove a passkey when you lose a device or stop using it. Adding and removing passkeys, and each sign-in with one, are recorded in the audit log.
Good to know
- Your password still works, so you can always sign in without your device.
- Knowpoint keeps only the public half of each passkey. The private key never leaves your device or your password manager.
- A passkey works only on the workspace address you added it on, such as yourcompany.knowpoint.io.
- If your workspace signs in with Microsoft only, use Sign in with Microsoft instead.
